Skream!

I have been getting very into dubstep lately. It is super-intense techno, which is best when NOT in super house/club form, in my opinion. This band called Skream is rad. A little too hardcore for me sometimes, but occasionally they remix something in a ridiculous way, or feature a great voice (as in the tracks below). Enjoy

Blake


I have never been a huge James Blake fan. His EPs aren't very accessible and require diligent listening. However his latest release is simply a work of art. Titled "James Blake", the album is slow-paced yet bumpin'. He masterfully texturizes each song with layers of effects. Check it out.

Flying Lotus


Flying Lotus is by far one of my favorite bands. Created by Steven Ellison, "Flylo" can most accurately be described as experimental/alternative techno beats. His best albums are "Cosmogramma" and "Pattern + Grid World". Extremely unconventional, kind of weird, but very awesome. For adventurous listeners only.

MIA


This is Mathangi "Maya" Arupragasam, formerly known and loved by many as MIA. She has kind of a weird sound, the type of sound where you aren't really sure if it is something to vibe out to, or rave hard. When I saw her in concert she was a total disappointment, stumbling onto the stage and screaming incoherently. If you follow her at all, you will know that she has been something of a disappointment the past few months. However her new album (one song) is spectacular, a mini comeback of sorts. Titled Vicki Leekx, this album won't disappoint you. It is bumpin'. Props to the crazy Sri Lankan...
